Jeroen van de Ven is assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam Centre for Law and Economics (ACLE).
He obtained his Ph.D. from CentER (Tilburg University) in 2003 for his dissertation 'Psychological Sentiments and Economic Behaviour'. He has held visiting positions at GREMAQ (University of Toulouse 1) and the University of Essex. After his Ph.D., he also worked for two years as a researcher at the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB).
His research interests are in the fields of Behavioural Economics and Economics and Psychology. One of his main lines of research is focused on the relation between rewards and motivation, for which is received a Veni scholarship from the Dutch National Science Organisation (NWO). Current projects include 'Discretionary Rewards as a Feedback Mechanism' (with Anton Suvorov), 'Decision making and Aspiration Levels' (with Enrico Diecidue), and 'Cooperation and Communication in front of a Large Audience: Evidence from a TV game show' (with Michèle Belot and V. Bhaskar).
